come see us
The best way to get to know us is to visit. Here's everything you need to know about a visit to Immanuel.
We share the common confession of faith expressed by Christians throughout the centuries in the Nicene Creed:I believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth
and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father,
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried.
And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures
and ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead,
whose kingdom will have no end.And I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord and giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified,
who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church,
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins,
and I look for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.We also confess the 1580 Book of Concord. We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod

Catechism Study
Join us Sundays at either 9am or 7pm as we explore the life of Jacob in the book of Genesis! We’ll learn where Israel came from and how the story of Jacob weaves all the way through the Bible. But it’s not just academic. We’ll also lean a lot for our lives – things like what forgiveness means, what makes a marriage, and how you should wrestle with God.

When you can't get to church or you want to read a sermon again, you can visit our Substack, where Pastor Goehring's sermons are available. Join the newsletter and get each one in your inbox every week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What should I expect during a service?A: Our services are reverent, because we believe that the One, Almighty, Holy God is present. But reverence doesn’t mean boring! Our services are filled with relevant messages focused on learning more about the Bible and what it means for our lives. Everything we do in worship is directed toward receiving, teaching and showing what God does for us! We sing the ancient hymns of the church along with recent compositions. It’s a little bit of a learning curve, but our service richly delivers the treasures of the church – both ancient and modern. Our congregation is blessed with many talented musicians, and we frequently worship with organ, piano, and other special music.Q: Where do I sit?A: You are welcome to sit anywhere you wish. Seating is not reserved.Q: Does it cost anything?A: Our worship services are provided free-of-cost.
If you wish to contribute, we take a freewill offering at our church.
However, do not feel compelled to leave a contribution.Q: How do I dress?A: We have many who dress up specially for service, and many who don’t.Q: Are children welcome?A: We believe the most important place for children is in divine service as part of the body of Christ! There is a cry room for any families who need it. Children are also welcome to Sunday School at 9am and for our midweek school on Wednesdays after school.Q: Where do I park?A: We have ample onsite parking.
Immanuel is a Lutheran Church. This means that we are a Christian church that:
Bases its teachings on the Bible.
Emphasizes salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross.
Embraces God’s Word, the sacraments, and prayer as the center of Christian worship.
Engages in acts of Christian witness and love locally, domestically, and abroad.
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a denomination that confesses the historic, orthodox Christian faith, a faith built on “the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone” (Eph. 2:20).
The LCMS, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is mission-oriented and Bible-based. LCMS doctrine reflects the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther, as summarized in The Book of Concord: The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Churches in Norton play a vital role in building community, offering hope, and sharing God’s grace and mercy. Immanuel stands as a prime example—welcoming neighbors, serving those in need, and above all, extending the grace of God in Jesus Christ to all.
